Telephone Consultations

We provide telephone consultations every day via our "On call Service" this service is available 9 am to 11.00 and 2.30pm until 4.00pm. All patients who need to be seen will be seen so you do not have to worry about phoning early to ensure appointment. If possible for non–urgent matters please call between 10am – 11.00 am or between 3pm – 4.00pm.

Our "On call Service" is very popular with patients who need advice but have other commitments, e.g. work, family and prefer a telephone consultation.

If a prescription is issued at a telephone consultation then the patient is responsible for arranging for it to be collected. We do not put prescriptions in boxes for local pharmacies. You will have to call the pharmacy of your choice and arrange for your prescription to be collected.

Missed Appointments & How to Cancel an Appointment

If you are unable to keep your appointment with the doctor or nurse then please cancel it.

If you notify us then your appointment can be offered to someone else. Each week we lose and average of 20 appointments because patients do not let us know they will not be attending. Although the number has significantly reduced since the introduction of our weekly release appointment system it is still too high.

If you do not attend your booked appointment please do not come to the Emergency Surgery unless you have a problem requiring urgent attention. Routine problems must be dealt with at a booked appointment. If you think you need to be seen urgently please phone our On Call Service

Patients who fail to attend and do not notify us are at risk of being removed from our list.

Please consider our other patients and give them the opportunity to have your appointment space.

To cancel an appointment please call our number and choose option 5

Home visits are available for patients who cannot attend the Practice because of their medical condition. If you think a visit is necessary then please call before 10.30 am if possible. Your request will be assessed by the Nurse or Doctor and in some situations you may be asked to attend the Practice. Please do not make house call requests if you are well enough to attend as we can see several patients in the Practice in the time it takes to do one home visit.
